MAIN STREET SUNDAYS RETURNS ON WOMEN’S DAY

Celebrate Women’s Day in the heart of Johannesburg as Main Street Sundays returns on 9 August. Following the success of its first event in April, which welcomed more than 5,000 visitors, the initiative invites people to experience the city centre at a slower, more relaxed pace.

Main Street will be transformed into a car-free space where pedestrians, cyclists, skaters, wheelchair users and families can explore safely. The free community event is all about connecting with the city and with one another, encouraging visitors to enjoy Johannesburg’s vibrant streets without the usual rush.

AIRLINK LAUNCHES FIRST SCHEDULED LANSERIA ROUTE

Airlink will introduce its first scheduled flights from Johannesburg’s Lanseria Airport on 15 November, with a new three-times-weekly service to Harare.

The route will operate on an Embraer E190 aircraft, offering both Business and Economy Class. The new service provides travellers with greater convenience while complementing Airlink’s existing flights between Harare and OR Tambo International Airport, making travel between South Africa and Zimbabwe even more accessible.

KAPAMA RIVER LODGE CELEBRATES 21 YEARS

Kapama River Lodge recently celebrated its 21st anniversary, welcoming more than 120 travel trade partners and suppliers to mark the milestone.

The celebration reflected on the lodge’s remarkable journey since opening in 2005, recognising the strong partnerships, dedicated team and continued growth that have shaped its success. Guests also celebrated the lodge’s ongoing investment, including a newly redesigned boma and upgraded accommodation as part of its latest refurbishment.

The event served as a reminder that, while Kapama is known for its exceptional safari experiences, its greatest strength remains the people who create unforgettable memories for every guest.
