TSWALU PARTNERS WITH CELEBRITY CHEF

Exciting news from Tswalu Kalahari Reserve: acclaimed chef and restaurateur Luke Dale Roberts will open a new restaurant at the Northern Cape reserve in late 2026.

Roberts will work closely with Tswalu, alongside local artisans and designers, to create a dining experience inspired by the Kalahari landscapes and celebrating South African creativity.

“Sustainability is at the heart of what Tswalu does,” Roberts said. “From ingredients to materials and craftspeople, we want to build a restaurant that respects its environment and supports the people connected to it. We’re taking the time to do things properly and create a space that feels authentic in its surroundings.”

CAPE TOWN ADVENTURES FOR KIDS

Cape Town offers a thoughtful blend of nature, learning, and light adventure for families travelling with children. From open-air experiences to interactive attractions, the city presents a well-balanced selection of activities suited to a range of ages.

At Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, expansive lawns and gentle walking paths invite unhurried exploration, while the elevated Boomslang Canopy Walkway provides a unique perspective of the surrounding landscape. For those seeking a more active outing, SA Forest Adventures offers guided zipline experiences set against the mountains of Hout Bay.

As the season draws to a close on 16 May, The Galileo Open Air Cinema provides a relaxed setting for families to enjoy films under the evening sky. Meanwhile, the Two Oceans Aquarium introduces younger visitors to the region’s marine life through well-curated exhibits and daily feeding sessions.

Further afield, Cape Point Nature Reserve offers a combination of scenic coastal walks, wildlife sightings, and access to the Flying Dutchman Funicular for sweeping views of the peninsula. Back in the city, the Cape Town Science Centre focuses on hands-on discovery, while Green Point Urban Park provides a tranquil space for picnics and play.
