PEZULA CHAMPIONSHIP GOLF COURSE– THE JEWEL OF THE GARDEN ROUTE
Leopard Creek is one of just three South African courses in the World Top 100, described as, “a pure bushveld theatre.”
Set on the Crocodile River it delivers a true Kruger-edge adventure, famous for the Alfred Dunhill Championship, where the wildlife often steals the show. Exclusive, but not closed.
Stay at an approved lodge and one plays for a green fee of R5 750. Having undergone a major upgrade refreshed bunkers, greens and turf, reworked the par-3 12th, and replaced thirsty kikuyu with resilient indigenous cynodont; greener, tougher, made for the bushveld heat for a greener, more sustainable finish.
HOW TO WITH SABINE/THE RULES OF THE GAME/GOLF ETIQUETTE
A ‘how-to’ guide with Golf@ General Manager, Sabine Pfeiffer”
We dive into the 101, beginner or professional we tailor made this Golf series about etiquette and basic rules.
Pace of Play – Keep the Game Flowing
Golf etiquette is not about rushing; it is about respect. Be ready to play when it’s your turn, limit practice swings and keep up with the group ahead. A smooth pace ensures everyone enjoys their round.
2. When to Pick Up Your Ball
Knowing when to pick up is part of good etiquette. Struggling on a hole during a friendly round? It’s perfectly acceptable to pick up and move on keeping play enjoyable for everyone.
3. Talking & Noise
Silence matters. Avoid talking, rustling bags or using your phone while someone is addressing the ball. Small considerations like this make a big difference on the course.
4. Respecting the Green
Always repair your pitch marks, avoid walking on another player’s putting line and treat the green with care — it’s the most delicate part of the course.
5. Playing with Strangers
Golf often brings people together. Introduce yourself, keep conversation friendly but minimal during play always respect different playing styles. Courtesy goes a long way.
