CHAPMAN’S PEAK DRIVE: WEDNESDAY CLOSURES UNTIL END OF NOVEMBER
Cape Town’s scenic Chapman’s Peak Drive will be closed every Wednesday from October until the end of November 2025, between 10:00 and 16:00.
The temporary closures allow SANParks teams to safely remove invasive alien vegetation along the slopes as part of ongoing efforts to reduce fire risk and protect the region’s unique fynbos ecosystem.
Motorists are advised to use Ou Kaapse Weg or Constantia Nek as alternative routes during these hours.
While the closures may cause some inconvenience, they play an important role in supporting long-term conservation and road safety along one of the Cape’s most iconic routes.
