SOUTH AFRICA: NEWS OF SA TOURISM’S RECOVERY OF R35M APPLAUDED
Industry associations applauded the decisive actions undertaken by the Minister of Tourism, Patricia de Lille, and the CEO of SA Tourism, Nombulelo Guliwe, concerning the recovery of R35 million (€1.7m) associated with irregular payments made at the end of March 2023.
Industry associations, FEDHASA, SATSA and ASATA – respectively representing the hospitality sector, inbound industry and southern African travel agents – said in a joint statement: “We commend Minister de Lille and Ms Guliwe for their principled and decisive leadership in proactively addressing this matter head-on.

REGIONAL: INITIATION OF PUBLIC WIFI ON THE ZAMBIAN SIDE OF VIC FALLS
On the Zambian side of the Victoria Falls, Livingstone now offers a new public WiFi service. Rodney Sikumba, Zambia’s Minister of Tourism, and Livingstone Mayor Constance Nalishebo Muleabai introduced the new service last week.
The Zambia branch of Liquid Intelligent Technologies, a pan-African technology company with operations in more than 20 countries, powers the public Wi-Fi service.

We are still committed to supporting EWT’s Canine Conservation Programme, and we would like you all to meet our 2 new Conservation K’9s – Remi & Kisha who will be deployed to Pilanesberg with their handler Shadi.
